Community Partners

By building strong partnerships with community organizations, students at 21st Street School receive support and encouragement from their community, allowing them to develop into successful, self-confident learners.

Two Head Start programs are held in the lower level of Greater New Birth Church, making for a strong partnership with the 21st Street School community. The MPS Head Start Program recognizes that early childhood education helps young learners build the confidence and skills to succeed in kindergarten and regular school. By providing enriching academic and social activities, the Head Start Program encourages students to focus in the classroom and respect their peers. It is based on the belief that children learn best through a combination of support services and provides parental, educational, medical, nutritional, psychological and social support to help children consistently succeed. For more information, please call the MPS Head Start Program at (414) 777-7850.
