It is the policy of the Milwaukee Public Schools that, as required by section 118.13, Wisconsin Statutes, no person will be denied admission to any public school or be denied the benefits of, or be discriminated against in any curricular, extracurricular, pupil services, recreational or other program or activity because of the person’s sex, race, religion, national origin, ancestry, creed, pregnancy, marital or parental status, sexual orientation or physical, mental, emotional or learning disability.
This policy also prohibits discrimination under related federal statutes, including Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (race, color, and national origin), Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (sex), and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (disability), and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (disability).

All ALBA students are taught to appreciate and use art as a means of self-expression. At ALBA, we believe that instruction in the Fine Arts prepares students to become risk takers and to think more creatively and analytically. We believe that students who study the arts will achieve more in academics.
Our goal is to provide instruction in Fine Arts and creative writing that emphasizes Latino contributions to these forms of expression. To teach Visual Art, Theatre and creative writing, our school's staff focuses on a different artist and author each month, while Dance instructors teach folkloric and contemporary dances. This will help students in the creation of a positive self-identity, and to continue as lifelong learners. Students receive weekly instruction in the following:

- Drama
- Music
- Creative Writing
- Crafts/ Manualidades
- Physical Education
- Students in Grades 1, 2 and 3, and in Grades 4 and 5 have the opportunity to be involved in after-school soccer teams.
- Students in 4th and 5th grades can participate in Volleyball after school.

Todos los alumnos de ALBA aprenden a apreciar y a usar las artes como medios de expresión propia.
En ALBA, creemos que la educación en Bellas Artes prepara a los estudiantes para asumir riesgos y pensar de manera más creativa y analítica. En ALBA creemos que los alumnos que estudian arte tendrán mayores logros académicos.
Nuestro objetivo es proporcionar instrucción en Bellas Artes y escritura creativa con un énfasis en las contribuciones hispanas en estas formas de expresión. Para enseñar artes visuales, teatro y escritura creativa, el personal de nuestra escuela estudia un autor y un artista diferente cada mes, mientras que los instructores de danza enseñan danzas folclóricas y contemporáneas. Esto ayudará a los estudiantes en la creación de una identidad propia positiva, al tiempo que les enseña a aprender por el resto de sus vidas. Los alumnos reciben instrucción semanal en las siguientes áreas:
