Parent Center
Families are one of the most important influences in a child’s education and provide some of the first teaching experiences. Students excel in school when families and staff members work together and communicate well. Cass St. School reinforces the values of the home and family structure in every classroom. Staff members collaborate with families to reinforce core learning concepts and support consistent expectations between teachers, students and parents.
Parents and families are encouraged to promote learning at home. Activities at the Cass St. Parent Center provide families with new strategies to help improve study skills at home and bolster learning. We ask parents to share their knowledge and expertise by volunteering as classroom helpers and chaperones. Some suggestions include leading special projects, participating in programs and school events, sharing skills and tutoring students. From the school newspaper to home phone calls, strong communication between the home and school is critical to success at Cass St. School.
The Cass St. Parent Center features the following resources and programs for families to stay connected:
- School Governance Council
- Parent Surveys
- Title I District Advisory
- Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO)
- Teacher Progress Report
- Family Surveys
- Monthly Meetings
- Family Fun Nights
Conferences
By attending school conferences, parents build positive communication with teachers and staff to monitor the child’s progress and celebrate his or her performance. Cass St. School invites all parents and families to attend conferences. It is a time to showcase the school and view the various learning activities and projects underway in each classroom.
Parents and families are encouraged to visit the Cass St. School Parent Center. Please call the school office at (414) 212-2700 or Parent Center Coordinator at (414) 212-2748. |
