His favorite aspect of teaching is having the opportunity to help shape the minds of tomorrow’s leaders. It is reassuring to know that each day is a new learning experience for teachers and students alike. Students enjoy Ms. Blake’s classroom because of the safe, comfortable and fun environment for learning she creates. Students immediately feel part of a family when they step into her classroom. Students should know that Ms. Blake is a graduate of MPS and believe it or not, she was not always the best student. At times, she took her education for granted and did not take advantage of all the wonderful learning opportunities that MPS has to offer. One of her former teachers had a huge impact on Ms. Blake’s life and encouraged her to understand that she had control of her own destiny. Ms. Blake believes that great teacher are gems, and they never grow up! She likes Cass Street School because of the students. Working in a K-8 school, Ms. Blake appreciates being able to see students begin their educational journey and progress to become grade 8 graduates ready for high school. Cass Street School is great because of the staff. Everyone from the cooks to the engineers plays significant roles in the educational experience. The school is set in a fantastic location with access to some of Milwaukee’s finest venues. |
