Cooper School Awards

Cooper School is proud of the awards it has received for its high-achieving students, staff and community members. These awards make Cooper stand out in a positive light not only throughout the city of Milwaukee, but throughout the entire State of Wisconsin. It is Cooper’s hope that the foundation upon which the school is built will continue to strengthen it in years to come. The Cooper school leaders strive for excellence and recognize the teachers, staff and students that garner recognition.

New Wisconsin Promise School of Recognition

Cooper was named a 2008-09 New Wisconsin Promise School of Recognition. This is the fourth consecutive school year that Cooper has been bestowed with this honor. New Wisconsin Promise Schools are recognized for working with their local communities to raise achievement for all of their students. Collaboration of students, staff, families and community members makes Cooper the successful place it is today. For more information, please visit http://dpi.state.wi.us/nwp/index.html.

Governor’s School Health Award

For two consecutive years, Cooper received the Governor’s School Health Award. By promoting good nutrition and physical fitness, Cooper addresses the importance of leading a healthy life. With the staff setting a positive example, students learn to choose fruits and vegetables over less healthy snack products. They also stay active and motivated to learn new ways they can improve their health and fitness. For more information, please visit http://www.schoolhealthaward.wi.gov/.
