Camp Cooper

image of student smilingCamp Cooper is the before- and after-school child care program for students at Cooper School. This convenient solution was developed in response to the need of our working families. Camp Cooper is a safe and positive environment for students. It provides a nice continuum to the school day and affords children with additional teaching, mentoring and access to resources.

Camp Cooper is open every school day. The before-school session runs from 6:45 to 7:45 a.m. and the after-school session goes from 2:30 to 6:00 p.m. Parents must drop off and pick up students from Camp Cooper – transportation is not provided by Cooper School.

Camp Cooper offers a variety of options for working families that include before-school only, after-school only, and even staggered days throughout the week.

The daily cost for the before-school session is $3.25 per child per day and the cost for the after-school session is $3.25 (2:30 – 3:30 p.m.), $6.50 (2:30 – 4:30 p.m.), $9.75 (2:30 – 5:30 p.m.) and $11.25 (2:30 – 6:00 p.m.). In addition, there is a $5.00 annual registration fee per child. This fee is collected once a year.

W2 participation is accepted. For W2 authorization, parents must go to the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families regional offices or visit http://dcf.wisconsin.gov/w2/ for more information.

At Camp Cooper, students participate in student-centered activities that are physically and socially developmental. Students receive homework assistance from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. and a snack is provided. Snacks are not provided in the morning session. After that time, Camp Cooper students may participate in structured group activities such as arts and crafts or games and computers. Students also have free time to spend as they please. Most Friday’s, Camp Cooper features an extra special event. Past Friday activities have included fun programs such as t-shirt tie-dying, outdoor sledding, pizza parties, cookie baking, movie nights, talent shows, or even karaoke, auctions and crafts.
