Cooper Welcome

photo of school staff members

Dear students and families,

It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to Cooper School. Having just become a member of the prestigious Cooper School community, it is with honor and excitement that I become part of this team. Cooper School is known for its excellence and hard-working, high-achieving students.

I began my career with MPS in 1986, immediately following my graduation from Marquette University. Within my first year of teaching second grade, I knew that I aspired to become an administrator. I received my master’s degree in administrative leadership from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and was promoted to Assistant Principal at Twenty-First Street School in 1992.

Students are encouraged to participate in after-school activities and to bring their best to the classroom every day. While I strongly believe in holding our children accountable and responsible for their learning experience, I also recognize the importance of the school staff and parents in the education process. I promise to uphold the safe, orderly and inviting learning environment at Cooper. I look forward to nurturing and continuing the strong home-school connection prevalent here. Together, families and staff can help build a strong, encouraging support network for our children.

The academics program at Cooper equips students with the skills and resources essential to their future success. Students become confident learners who give back to their community and develop into responsible, productive citizens. Cooper School has received a variety of awards thanks to the promotion of positive choices, an excellent staff and dedicated students. At our school, we strive to connect with local organizations and serve as an anchor in the community.

As always, we welcome your presence and participation in the life of our learning community. For more information or to schedule a tour of Cooper School, please call (414) 304-6300. I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Jennifer Doucette, Principal
