Ms. McCoy began teaching in 1996 and has been with MPS since 1998. For the past several years, she has served as a mentor for intern teachers within the MPS/UW-Milwaukee Special Education Internship Program. She earned a degree in Special Education from Western Illinois University in 1996. She is pursuing her master’s degree in Reading and Learning Disabilities from Cardinal Stritch University.
Ms. McCoy loves watching students learn. It’s fun to see how excited children get about learning new topics. In her classroom, students participate in hands-on learning activities. They use the community as a classroom to continue learning outside the traditional school day. Students admire Ms. McCoy’s love of reading and understand that “every” book is one of her favorites.
Ms. McCoy is excited to teach at Cooper and everyone, including students, staff and parents, has been extremely friendly and welcoming. |
