Elm Foundation/Fund History
The Elm Foundation was created by a group of committed Elm parents, teachers and administrators who came together during the 2002-2003 school year to discuss creative new ways to ensure that Elm remains a strong arts-based school. This group realized that it was time to reach out into the community to spread the word about Elm ís important educational accomplishments and find new sources of funding for arts programming. The Elm Foundation was created to go directly to major foundations and corporations in Milwaukee, as well as parents, grandparents, teachers and friends to raise funds that would ensure arts excellence at Elm. In 2008, Elm Foundation became Elm Fund as a part of Catch A Rising Star (C.A.R.S.), the 501 c(3) at Milwaukee High School of the Arts, and continues to be the connection between outside grant funding and collaborating with community arts organizations to bring the arts to the students at Elm.
