Playground Activity and Sports

Weather permitting, children go out of doors at noon recess. Kindergarten children use the tot lot play structures. Lunch and recess for grades 1–3 is separate from grades 4–5. Playground activity is non-structured play and is well supervised.

Students can also participate in after school basketball and cheerleading.

Community Learning Center (CLC)

Open 7:00–7:30 a.m. and 2:30–5:45 p.m.

Working parents can take advantage of the Community Learning Center operated by the Boys & Girls Club at Engleburg. The program focuses on recreation, health, sports, fitness, the arts, and environmental education. Homework help is available. Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops meet throughout the school year. Activities are organized by grade level. There is currently no fee. A six-week summer program is also available for a small fee. There is no CLC programming on MPS days off. The program usually has a waiting list, so new families should check for availability upon enrollment.
