Students keep a monthly CORE reading log in grades K4 through 5th

One CORE point is awarded for each book listed on the log which is for books read at home and school.

Teachers turn in a monthly CORE report listing the points each of their students earned for that month.

CORE projects

Students may chose to do a special project with a book and earn additional points.  The projects include reading to a younger child or doing a diorama to producing a puppet show.

Accelerated Reader

Fairview has subscribed to Renaissance Place which gives students access to over 100,000 AR quizzes, 9,000 vocabulary quizzes and skill quizzes.  AR can be accessed wherever the internet is available.  The link is on the home page of Fairview School.  Let's accelerate our reading.

6th, 7th & 8th CORE Club

Students in 6th, 7th and 8th grade are challenged to earn 60 core points per semester.  Points are earned by taking AR quizzes or completing special projects and book reviews.  The students earning 60 or more points receive a certificate a $10 gift card per 60 points earned by the end of the semester.
