The Fairview School Governance Council approved the establishment of a Fairview Fund within the Milwaukee Public Schools Foundation. This fund allows individuals and businesses to give donations directly to a 501(c)3 organization. This 01 (c) 3 status is a requirement for many corporate donations. The Fairview Fund will support programs/projects for which no public funding is available. Fairview is one of eight MPS schools to have such a fund designation.
The Milwaukee Public Schools Foundation, Inc. was organized in 1998 as a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation for educational and charitable purposes. The foundation seeks to raise funds and secure donations from individuals and private-sector organizations to support programs and projects not affordable through public funds to provide enhanced learning opportunities for students in Milwaukee Public Schools. |
