Enrolling Your Child:

3-CHOICE ENROLLMENT FOR 2012-2013 will occur in January of 2012.

Fernwood is an MPS public Montessori School offering K3 through 8th grade. Our entry age is 3 years old. Children who are older than 4 years old may apply for admission to Fernwood only if they have had continuous, previous enrollment in another MPS Montessori School or a private school with a teacher who is trained and certified by the American Montessori Society (AMS) or the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). Applications for qualified K5-8th grade students are accepted if seats are available.

The first Three-Choice Enrollment period runs for three weeks in January of each year. Selection is done through a lottery that is conducted by MPS. Parents who enroll during January will receive a letter from MPS in March. Students who selected Fernwood as their first choice will either be assigned to Fernwood or given a place on the waiting list.

In order to apply for enrollment at Fernwood, a child must be 3 years old on or before September 1st. We are not able to accept applications for younger children. To apply for Fernwood, you must complete an application and present:

• A certified copy of the child's birth certificate.
• Proof of City of Milwaukee residency.
• The child's immunization records.
