Guten
Tag!
Welcome to the fifth grade! It will be an exciting
year, filled with lots of learning. We'll be covering the geography
and history of several regions in the United States. In Science,
students will study the solar system, cells and matter. Two minute
math drills will be implemented to prepare the students for the
math topics covered throughout the year: fractions, geometry,
algebra and probability. There is also a focus on the Six Traits
of Writing. In German, we'll be reading a couple of great books
like Finkengasse gegen Starenweg, Oma, Vorstadt Krokodile, and
Ben liebt Anna. Students will have the opportunity to express
their creative side through art. We will be working on several
great projects this year, including Power Points, a Black History
biography and the Book of Me. With the exception of English, all
day is taught in German. I look forward to a great year. Take
a moment to explore the MGIS website and the fifth grade page.
There a many wonderful activities waiting for you!
