| Junior Achievement of Wisconsin (http://milwaukee.ja.org) |
|
| Junior Achievement of Wisconsin seeks to educate and inspire young people to succeed in a global economy through hands-on experiences. In partnership with businesses and educators, Junior Achievement brings real-world experiences to students, opening their minds to their potential. At the elementary level, Junior Achievement programs teach children how to impact the people around them as individuals, workers and consumers. In later years, these programs focus on the key content areas of entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy. A not-for-profit organization, Junior Achievement relies on volunteers to help achieve its goals. Factory workers, community leaders, bank tellers, engineers, top executives and small business owners are all stepping into classrooms. Students are brought face-to-face with volunteers that can answer their questions and provide insight to the business world. Many of the teachers at Goodrich incorporate the Junior Achievement program into their curriculum. |

| Second Harvest (www.secondharvestwi.org) |
|
| Each February Goodrich “gives from the heart” by collecting non-perishables and donating them to Second Harvest. K4 students collect the items and keep track of them. Fifth-grade students apply their knowledge on nutrition and healthy eating by taking a trip to Pick ‘n Save. In groups, students shop for breakfast, lunch and dinner to provide for a family of four. These items, some of which are perishable, are donated to Second Harvest. |

| The Milwaukee Wave Pro Soccer organization is active in the southeastern Wisconsin community through charitable events, appearances and the innovative Making Waves program. The Making Waves program uses in-school assemblies, Newspapers in Education curricula and School Day Games to inspire and motivate students. The Milwaukee Wave recently came to Goodrich to do a presentation for students that stressed the importance of making good choices and developing future goals. Students who earned enough points in the Merit System (see Academics) at Goodrich also attended an intersquad Wave game. |
