Our school has just completed the necessary work to enable every classroom the capabilities of 12 networked computers per room. At the present time, most classrooms have 6 computers. Accelerated Reader and the Internet will be on each of the six computers by Fall of 2002. Phase II of our project is to have each classroom hooked up to cable with a mounted TV and VCR on the ceiling with Internet hook-up to a computer for classroom viewing. The technology center boasts state of the art computers. There are 30 Macintosh Imacs with DVD and CD rewritables. Children are accompanied by their teacher for one hour each week to work on their projects. Students are encouraged to come to the center during DEAR time to take Accelerated Reader tests.

The Media Center houses hundreds of books, videos, and cassettes. The teachers use the Media center as a resource for classroom activity. Hampton's goal is to have every book in the Library an Accelerated Reader tested book. Students are allowed to check out two books weekly.
