Community Partnerships
Through ongoing partnerships with organizations throughout Milwaukee, Honey Creek establishes itself as an anchor within the community. Students receive support from community leaders and are offered new opportunities to enhance their education. Many of the organizations that partner with Honey Creek equip students with necessary life and professional skills that will aid them in the future. Planning Agendas for Second through Fifth Grade
Planning agendas are given to students in grades 2-5. Planners are utilized in each classroom to accommodate each teacher’s style of instruction. They serve as an effective means of communication between families and the school. Students are encouraged to build good study habits and organizational skills. |

Instructional Practices Inventory (IPI)
In the MPS detailed strategic plan, data collection profile system, Instructional Practices Inventory, is implemented to accurately measure the nature of instructional practices across each school. Such information provides a valid picture of instruction across a school. IPI data collection is a way of measuring levels of student engagement and classroom instruction in a non-evaluative manner. |

University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee (UWM)
Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC)
Milwaukee Teachers’ Education Association (MTEA)
UWM, MATC and MTEA comprise the Milwaukee Mathematics Partnership, a communitywide collaborative effort among schools, universities, unions and businesses and well as government and community organizations to substantially improve mathematics achievement for 100,000 K-12 MPS students. At Honey Creek, Math Teacher Leaders work with teachers and students to improve math skills in Math Processes, Numbers and Operations, Measurement and Geometry, Algebra, and Statistics and Probability. |

Educators Credit Union (ECU)
The ECU provides financial literacy instruction for grade 4 students at Honey Creek. Presentations include the importance of saving money and spending wisely. Students also learn about bank accounts and how to handle their finances responsibly in today’s economy. |

These institutions provide field students and student teachers to Honey Creek. These prospective teachers build strong relationships with Honey Creek students. As young professionals, they bring unique perspectives to the classroom. |

Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW)
A member of the School Governance Board is a staff member at the Medical College of Wisconsin. This partnership affords additional educational opportunities to the students of Honey Creek School in the areas of Health and Science. |

Our Lady of Lourdes Parish
Volunteers from Our Lady of Lourdes Parish work with Honey Creek children during the day. They assist students with academics and help them complete projects. |

| Community Service Projects |

| Community service projects are also encouraged in an effort to develop Honey Creek students into responsible citizens who give back to their community. Many volunteer opportunities exist in order for students to learn the importance of contributing their time and talents to better society. |
