Humboldt Park K-8 School offers a Direct Instruction
curriculum. Direct Instruction programs are used throughout most grade
levels in the content areas of: reading, language arts and math. All Direct
Instruction programs are aligned with the district's Learning Targets and
the Wisconsin State Standards. Teachers integrate additional literature,
resources and activities daily that build upon the skills and concepts
outlined in each Direct Instruction program.
Students with disabilities and
English language learners benefit from full-time special education staff
members and ESL teachers. Humboldt Park K-8 students also enjoy the talents
of full-time art and physical education teachers, as well as part-time music
and library media specialists. Many students participate in music lessons
and drama weekly. Technology is integrated throughout the curriculum
though the use of our two new state of the art computer labs.
