Mission Statement

“Albert E. Kagel School is committed to providing a positive environment where all students can learn, develop and mature while promoting self-esteem, responsibility and respect for the self as well as others. Albert E. Kagel School also offers each student a diverse education in a safe, supportive environment that encourages self-discipline, motivation and excellence in learning. The Albert E. Kagel School elementary team joins the parents and community in assisting students as they develop skills to become independent and self-sufficient adults who will succeed and contribute responsibly in a global community.”

Stemming from our mission statement are six characteristics for each student to exhibit at all times:

  • Respect the self, others and the environment.
  • Participate productively and responsively in a rapidly changing society.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Use cooperative and independent learning styles to accomplish goals.
  • Use problem solving techniques to handle everyday situations.
  • Set and meet high standards.

Dear families and supporters,

As principal of Kagel, I want to welcome you to our dynamic learning community.  We offer students in K3 – grade 5 a multicultural education that teaches them to value the differences in others and equips them with the skills needed to excel in a diverse world. Our motto, “Every child, every chance, every day to make a different world,” represents our belief that as children develop into adults, each student has the potential to bring about positive change by extending their leadership skills, recognizing their unique talents and accepting a social responsibility to their community.

The staff and administration at Kagel exhibit strong dedication to student achievement and are constantly advancing their teaching methods and strategies through professional development opportunities. Every lesson, activity and event at Kagel is child-centered. We strive to accommodate the learning styles of all children, recognizing that each student is an individual with different strengths and weaknesses. Our staff is committed to creating and maintaining an orderly, trusting and caring environment where teaching and learning are exciting and students are assisted as they advance in their education.

While we value our staff and their leadership in the school community, we also recognize that parents are vital and important partners in the education of their children. Parents are the first and foremost educators of Kagel students. We welcome them in our classrooms and invite them to share in the learning experience. Every effort is made to ensure strong communication between the school and home. By joining our School Governance Council, parents can become active members of a team that discusses the Kagel curriculum, educational plan and school events.

In addition to our valuable parents, Kagel also relies upon community supporters.  These organizations expand student opportunities, offer new experiences and instill important values within our children. Knowing that local leaders care about their education inspires students to do their best and someday, we hope it will encourage them to give back to a community that has given them so much.

Please come visit our students at Kagel and learn about the great things our school has to offer. To schedule a tour, please call (414) 902-7400. I look forward to introducing you to our learning community!
