MPS Learning Targets

Milwaukee Public Schools has adopted a Learning Targets Initiative. The MPS Learning Targets state clearly what children will be learning; not only in reading, language arts, mathematics, science and social studies, but also in music, physical education, health and art.

Setting Learning Targets for each subject area and grade level ensures that all teachers instruct the same skills and concepts at a level appropriate for the child's development. This initiative also ensures that children have learned what they need to succeed in each grade by assessing their performance throughout the year.
