Community Learning Center

Through the Community Learning Center, (CLC) at Lloyd, we are able to keep our school doors open during non-traditional school hours. This gives our children opportunities to enhance their learning and be involved in enriching activities in a convenient, caring environment. Since our CLC is housed at Lloyd, it is a safe after-school haven for children where learning continues to take place in a supervised environment. This helps children learn more and avoid destructive or dangerous activities.

We are open from after school until 5:30 PM. We offer:

• help with their homework in reading and math
• boys and girls sports teams
• swimming lessons at our community partner, the North Central YMCA
• art projects
• tutoring
• clubs
• special projects and activities for the entire family

Lloyd After School Tutoring

Lloyd Street School offers tutoring on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30-4:00 for second through fifth grade students. They work with a Lloyd teacher in small groups, focusing on reading, writing and math. Space is limited.

Marquette Tutoring

Marquette University of Education students work with small groups of students on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-5:00. They work on decoding and vocabulary skills in reading. This is funded by MarquetteUniversity. Students are assessed to determine eligibility.
