Welcome! Dear Students and Families, As principal of Lowell Elementary School, I want to welcome you to our school community, where learning is emphasized at all levels. At Lowell, we are very sensitive to the unique abilities of all students and our staff goes above and beyond to meet these needs. Upon entering Lowell, visitors and new students are welcomed into a community that accepts individuals of diverse cultures and developmental differences without judgment. Our school motto, “Lowell is for learning,” stresses the school community’s values and goals. The staff and students at Lowell are continually strengthening the professional learning community. Students are taught that in order to learn they must work hard, respect themselves and others, and take responsibility for their actions. By incorporating technology into the curriculum at Lowell, students are equipped with the necessary tools to succeed in a globally connected world. By increasing the use of online technology at Lowell, students become well-rounded and have the advantage of researching academic information on the Internet and becoming comfortable with technological skills that will help them further their education in future years. At Lowell, we work to establish positive relationships with other neighborhood schools, community organizations and our parents and families. Students benefit from the encouragement they receive from this strong support network. Parent grade-level meetings are held to explain the MPS Learning Targets and expectations and to emphasize the role of parents and families in supporting learning and homework completion. For more information or to schedule a tour at Lowell Elementary School, please call our offices at (414) 304-6600. I’m looking forward to continuing to reach all of our goals at Lowell!
Sincerely, Susan Stoner, Principal
