Staff

The certified, professional staff at Lowell dedicates their time and energy to providing students with the best education possible. Children receive the individual instruction they deserve and build their confidence in the classroom. By embracing students’ unique learning abilities and talents, the Lowell staff creates a comfortable learning environment where children can be themselves.

 

Susan Stoner, Principal

Ms. Stoner is the current Principal at Lowell. She loves working with all the Lowell families and appreciates her dedicated staff. The students at Lowell are comfortable around Ms. Stoner because she has a wonderful sense of humor. By remaining fair and consistent in her style of discipline, Ms. Stoner earns the respect of her students. She holds high expectations for the entire Lowell community – students, families and staff alike. Ms. Stoner feels Lowell is a great place to learn because of its close, team-oriented atmosphere, super students, proud parents and dedicated staff members!

Nicole Wunsch, Early Childhood/Special Education, Room 2

Mrs. Wunsch loves watching her students grow into responsible, independent thinkers. Students enjoy her classroom because she encourages them to learn through play, making school fun. Mrs. Wunsch expects her students to always do their best. She loves Lowell’s small school atmosphere, the staff’s compassion towards students and the parents’ level of involvement in their children’s education.
 
Marisa Koss, K4, Room 4
Mrs. Koss
Ms. Koss has been teaching at Lowell since 2009 and loves watching the little ones in her K4 classroom grow in confidence and develop new abilities. In Ms. Koss’s classroom, students come first. She expects them to always do their best and in return, she will always be fair. Ms. Koss loves teaching at Lowell because it is a small neighborhood school staffed with teachers who genuinely care about and respect the families with whom they work.
 
Angela Dembinski, K5, Room 5

Mrs. Dembinski has been teaching at Lowell since 1995. She loves teaching children and working with the families in the Lowell School community. Students enjoy being in Mrs. Dembinski’s classroom because she reaches out to each child and meets his or her individual needs. Mrs. Dembinski respects all students and their families.  In her free time, she loves to walk and listen to music. Mrs. Dembinski feels Lowell is a great place to learn because Lowell is a “small” school with a big heart, where the staff members show compassion and concern for all!
 
Ms. Julie Benning, Kindergarten, Room 2
Ms. Benning
Ms. Benning has been a teacher at Lowell since 2009. She loves seeing smiles on her students’ faces when they progress. Everyone is successful in her classroom and because she is a good listener and helps children build friendships, students respect Ms. Benning and her teaching style. Ms. Benning loves Lowell because it is small enough for everyone to know each other. She feels Lowell is a great place to learn because of its outstanding, hardworking teachers, its emphasis on higher-order thinking skills and the willingness of Lowell parents to help their children learn.
 
Kelly Collins, Special Education, Room 19
Ms. Collins has been teaching at Lowell since 2009 and she loves the growing confidence and enjoyment students show towards learning after mastering a new skill. Students enjoy Ms. Collins’ classroom because she keeps it relaxed, friendly and respectful. Ms. Collins loves to travel and see new places around the world. She also loves meeting new and interesting people! Because Lowell provides a quality education in a small, friendly environment, Mrs. Collins believes it is a great place for parents to send their children.
 
Patricia Newborn, Grade 1, Room 7  
Mrs. Newborn has been teaching at Lowell for more than 20 years. She loves working with a diverse group of students and families and watching her students gain new knowledge from the beginning of the year school year until the end. When it comes to managing her classroom, Mrs. Newborn is fair and consistent and she tries to make learning fun and interactive for her students. She has been a host parent for two foreign exchange students, one from France and one from Germany. She enjoys teaching at Lowell because it is a small school and she feels the community is like a family, with friendly teachers who care for one another and their students. Lowell is a great place to learn because the staff works together to make it a great place where students come first.
 
Ms. Tyshynsky Grade 1, Room 6
Ms. Tyshynsky
Ms. Tyshynsky has been teaching at Lowell since the 2010-2011 school year. She loves being an important part of children’s learning and development. Students enjoy Ms. Tyshynsky’s teaching style because she believes there is always time to smile while learning and that respect and kindness are the two most important values in the classroom. Ms. Tyshynsky enjoys teaching at Lowell because it is a small learning environment with great teachers who care and work hard to improve the lives of their students.
 
Jennifer Lemke, Grade 2, Room 8  
Mrs. Lemke has been teaching at Lowell since 1998. Her favorite thing about being a teacher is the lasting, positive imprint she leaves on students’ learning. She also enjoys watching students get excited and motivated about learning. Students enjoy Mrs. Lemke’s classroom because every day is new, exciting and full of fun activities. Her students do different things each month! Mrs. Lemke is the fourth person in her family to become a teacher. She enjoys teaching at Lowell because it is a small school where teachers can create working relationships with students and families. She feels Lowell is a great place to work because students are excited to learn, parents value education, teachers collaborate together and administrators support education in and out of the classroom!
 
Ms. Jaime Guzniczak, Grade 2, Room 9
Ms. Guzniczak
Ms. Guzniczak loves teaching because of those “ah-ha!” moments, when students connect with a concept and begin to understand. As a teacher, she feels rewarded when students ask if they can do an educational activity again because they enjoyed it so much the first time. Students tell "Ms. G" that she is “almost always smiling,” that she is kind and that she always teaches “fun stuff!” Ms. Guzniczaki fair and consistent with her expectations and she works hard at making each student feel comfortable with their own talents and abilities. She feels that Lowell is a great place to learn because its staff is dedicated to teaching and genuinely cares about student success.  Also, teachers at Lowell are open to improving teaching methods so that each student is impacted in a positive way.
 
Jeanne M. DeHaro, Grade 5, Room 11

Mrs. DeHaro has been teaching at Lowell since the 1997-1998 school year. She loves the students’ smiles when they’ve worked hard and tackled something new! Students enjoy Mrs. DeHaro because she helps them take charge of their own progress. Mrs. DeHaro has high expectations for thinking, learning and behavior. She loves Lowell because it is small and teachers get to know their children very well, like a big family! The staff, students and families make Lowell a wonderful learning community and a great place to be!
 
Janet Key, Grade 3, Room 12

Mrs. Key has been a teacher at Lowell since the 2003-2004 school year. Her favorite thing about teaching is encouraging students to grow and learn. Students enjoy spending time in Mrs. Key’s classroom because each day they are provided with new opportunities to learn and to celebrate their learning. Mrs. Key loves chocolate almost as much as she loves her responsible students! Her favorite things about Lowell are its small size and comfortable environment, where everyone knows one another. The caring families, dedicated staff and great students working together make Lowell a great place to learn!

Mrs. Knasinski has been teaching at Lowell since 2009. She loves helping Lowell students achieve their goals and holds high expectations for all of them. Mrs. Knasinski believes that all students should take their education very seriously because it can and will open doors for them in the future. She loves the Lowell students because when they are held to high expectations, they rise up to meet them. Lowell School is a great place to learn because of its energetic students, caring staff and high standards!

Mrs. Glisczinski, who has been at Lowell since 2001, earned her degree in Library Science in 1991 and is happy to be a part of the Lowell staff. Her favorite part about being the librarian at Lowell is her ability to work with and get to know students at all different grade levels. Students enjoy the library because of the wide variety of media they can access, books, CDs, videos, magazines and computers available for their use. Mrs. Glisczinski enjoys reading in her spare time. Her favorite part of Lowell is the wide open playground, where children can spend their free time. She believes Lowell is a great place to receive an education because of all the opportunities for students to learn.

Mrs. Leon has been an Educational Assistant at Lowell since 2004. She loves children and gets joy out of teaching them something new every day. Students enjoy working with Mrs. Leon because she cares about their needs. Mrs. Leon is always in a good mood and always smiling. She loves working at Lowell because the staff genuinely cares about the students’ education. She feels Lowell is a great place to learn because it is a small school, meaning that the staff knows the students better and is able to provide them with positive attention and individual help, both academically and personally.

Ms. Price loves being an HCA because she enjoys working with children and helping them grow. Students, in turn, love Ms. Price because she always has plenty of activities to keep them moving and learning. Ms. Price is a very kind person and feels the staff at Lowell is great! She feels Lowell is a great place to learn because it is a small school that gives children a chance to get positive, one-on-one instruction.
