Supply List For 2009-2010

Welcome

Photo of Mr. James SayavongWelcome to the Milwaukee Academy of Chinese Language! As principal of MACL, I am looking forward to a successful and prosperous year. It is my personal goal to ensure the highest quality of education for all students that they may succeed in a diverse world.

MACL offers extensive lessons from qualified professionals on the Mandarin Chinese language and culture. Our traditional curriculum is taught in English with students attending a Mandarin Chinese language lab thirty minutes daily, enabling them to develop a knowledge of the southeast Asian culture. Students from all backgrounds are welcome and encouraged to be part of this exciting new program.

At MACL, we believe that a child’s education is a shared responsibility between the school, the family and the community. Based on this belief, we make every effort to connect with our students’ families and work with them in order to ensure support and motivation for our children. We encourage a high level of family involvement and work with our Governance Council, Learning Team and Parent Teacher Organization (P.T.O.) to enhance our students’ lives. The MACL staff has partnered with the Boys and Girls Club to design and implement an after school program for our children. Neighborhood House is involved in educating our students about protecting our environment and natural resources.

In order to keep our students motivated and interested in learning, we have created a rich learning environment that promotes self-confidence and encourages students to reach their fullest potential. We model our teaching and learning after Confucius’ famous quote, “I hear and I forget. I see and I believe. I do and I understand.” Our professional teachers, inspirational staff and motivated students share a mutual respect for learning.

Sincerely,

Mr. James Sayavong

Principal
