Golda Meir School offers a Gifted and Talented Program designed for a diverse urban student population. Our test scores reflect results that could only be achieved by students motivated by an exciting, interdisciplinary curriculum and supported by caring parents.

Golda Meir School received the DPI “New Wisconsin Promise School of Recognition Award” in 2004 for having exemplary student academic performance in reading and mathematics.

In 2007, the school was additionally honored to receive a No Child Left Behind National Blue Ribbon Award.  Golda Meir was one of only 287 K-12 schools, public and private, to receive this honor.

Class trip destinations currently include Madison and Baraboo, Wisconsin; Chicago and Schaumburg, Illinois; Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia; and Denmark.  Our downtown location allows for regular visits to First Stage Children’s Theater, Milwaukee Youth Arts Center, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee Public Museum, Central Library, and numerous other downtown attractions.

Golda Meir School provides a third through fifth grade lower school program accommodating 270 pupils, and a sixth through eighth grade upper school extension program for 90 students.

Middle school teachers continue the Golda Meir tradition of high level literacy and mathematics, with extended lab opportunities in science and extensive research experience in social studies.  “Project Lead the Way,” a pre-engineering program incorporating math, science, and technology is implemented with the use of a stand-alone laptop lab.  Community service, foreign language studies, and arts education are integrated into the program as well.

The Golda Meir staff creates a stimulating environment where the potential of every student is discovered and rewarded.  As one of Milwaukee’s original magnet schools, our urban gifted and talented program has a thirty year tradition of high academic standards and an engaging curriculum for a culturally diverse population.

For further information or to schedule a visit please call Mr. Joe Becker, Dean of Students, at 414-212-3206.
