Environmental Science: Wastewater Treatment Working Model

December 15, 2011
8th grade students construct a working model of a wastewater treatment plant. The model should have a entry point, move through the stages of treatment and be successfully returned to the environment.


 


Chess Meet at Goodrich Elementary School

Even though this past Saturday was unseasonable warm 160 kids from all over Southeastern Wisconsin gathered at Goodrich Elem. on the Northwest side of Milwaukee to play chess. Golda Meir had 26 kids in attendance at Goodrich. We had teams in three different divisions. We finished 2nd in all three divisions. Ben Thompson finished 4th in the K-5 division. In the K-12 division Jimmy O'Brien finished in 6th and Will Sankovitz in 4th. The Thomas Jefferson Middle School Chess Tournament

Golda Meir Chess Team had a outstanding day at the tournament. The K-3, K-6 and K-12 teams all took 1st place! Individual 14 out of our 27 players finished 19th or better in their divisions. Don't forget to check the team website @ https://sites.google.com/site/goldameirchessteam/

Fifth Grade Plant Studies and Seed Lab

Fifth grade science students have been studying plants. A guest scientist, Mr. Wefferling, visits to talk about plant reproduction. Students work with scientific tools to study, measure and observe seeds and seed pods.
