Principal’s News Dear Parents, The start of school is quickly approaching, Metro takes pride in the fact that we prepare our students for the future. Helping students achieve these goals requires the assistance of what we call the Achievement Triangle. This triangle consists of three components. The Parent Component, supports the students in decision making and oversees the overall growth. The Community Component, provides the opportunities for students to investigate post-graduate studies. The School Component, provides the education and skills necessary for various post-high school planning opportunities. All three components are necessary for student achievement Research supports that students connectedness to school is a major determinant for graduation on time. Post-high school planning provides one way for students to see the link between career goals and current courses in which they are enrolled. Student success and achievement require a strong Achievement Triangle that is driven by students and parent involvement. Talking about post-high school goals early and often with students, and meeting with counselors and teachers throughout their high school years allows the opportunity to create a course schedule that helps students reach their goals. We wish all Metro students continued success. Mr. Wisniewski Principal |
