Electronic Communication Devices
MPS Policy States:
Students are not allowed to possess or use two-way electronic communication devices,
such as pagers and cell phones while on premises controlled by MPS unless approval
has been given. Approval is given if the device is for medical, school, educational,
vocational or other legitimate use. The principal approves the use of the device if it is
needed during regular school hours. The administrator in charge gives approval if the
device is needed after regular school hours. Violation of this rule may result in discipline
according to district policy.
If a student is in possession of electronic
communication devices:
The cell phone or other communication device can be confiscated.
Minimum disciplinary action: conference/intervention.
Maximum disciplinary action: suspension or referral to Division of Student Services.
Students, if your use of a communication device endangers the physical safety or
mental well-being of others, you could be expelled.
