Records fall. Tech Rises to Top (Again!)

The Bradley Tech Lady Trojans won their second consecutive state title in convincing style, dominating the sprint and relay events.
Dezerea Bryant maintained last year’s state crown as the fastest sprinter in the state by winning the 100 and 200 meter dash events, setting state records in each performance. Bryant later combined with Angelina Howard, Derricka Wesley and Amber Coggs to capture gold in the 4x100 relay.
Elexis Fuller-Stewart ran to a second place finish in the 200; Tahje Whittley took second in the 400 and third in the 100; and Tiffany Mathews finished seventh in the 800.
Angelina Howard, Derricka Wesley, Tiffany Mathews and Elexis Fuller-Stewart combined to finish second in the 4x200 relay and Fuller-Stewart, Whittley, Dinah Watts and Mathews took second in the 4x400 relay.
Congratulations to all the Tech athletes and coaches.
