Partnerships At Northwest Secondary, strong relationships with community partners allow students to receive the well-rounded education that equips them with skills they can use in the real-world environment. Through valuable experiences with these organizations, students are able to gain different perspectives and exposure to new situations.
CH2M HILL CH2M Hill, a global leader in full-service engineering, construction and operations provides speakers and support during Engineer’s Week in February. Through this partnership, students are able to ask questions and receive education on different possible career paths.
OARSMAN CAPITAL Employees at Oarsman Capital, Inc., a company offering investment and portfolio management services, volunteer their time to coach Special Olympics. Thanks to their patience and guidance, students are able to develop their talents and skills.
UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN – MILWAUKEE UWM’s GEAR UP program provides Northwest Secondary students with academic support and advising that will better prepare them for high school and college. The GEAR UP program strives to expose students and their families to college campuses and to increase their knowledge of post-secondary options, available financial aid and scholarships, high school courses needed to enter college and other entrance requirements.
MILWAUKEE AREA TECHNICAL COLLEGE Through Northwest Secondary’s partnership with MATC, juniors and seniors have a unique opportunity to attend classes at the MATC downtown campus. Classes offered include: Business Co-Op I & II, Small Engine Repair and Computer Aided Design (CAD).
GE HEALTHCARE GE Healthcare, a global leader in producing medical imaging equipment, provides several hundred volunteers to assist with landscaping, painting, cleaning and organizing classrooms and equipment. GE has also extended their partnership to provide mentors to middle and high school students at Northwest Secondary throughout the school year.
