Pulaski History

In September 1933, Pulaski High School (originally to be called Southwest High) opened its doors to the children of the community and started with an enrollment of 457 students and 17 teachers. The following September (1934) the enrollment had increased to 801 students and 26 teachers. By 1936, there were 1,400 students and 50 teachers. The first graduating class of 1937 had 177 members, a little short of the original 200 students who came to the school four years before. After 1938, Pulaski became a four-year senior high school. In recent years, enrollment has been approximately 1,500 students.
