A room with a view

The intent of this project is to create a visual experience that people can embrace while visiting the lakeshore. The path and spaces entering the lake, are complimented with sophisticated wall shapes. Also, to add to a more serene feeling of relaxation, there is an area for visitors to take their time and embrace the area by sitting or standing along the wooden platform. Lastly, the platform leading into the water is enclosed with a wall and has a small planting area.

A Milwaukee Transit Stop

My shelter is designed with the intention of providing a safe and relaxing place for commuters to wait. Through any kind of weather, people can stay dry and sit in easy view of their on coming bus. I came up with this design from a chair I remember seeing a while back on television. This chair was in the shape of a "C", kind of like a half egg. The material and craftsmanship played a very important role in the design. I kept the design very simple with one bench; attached to a roofed-wall with windows in both the roof and wall. Another bench is adjacent. The wall and roof windows serve as opposite spaces to the common wall that holds up the roof; positive and negative space. The translucent windows also give view of the park and allow sunlight in.
