PLAN

Students take the PLAN test in the 10th grade to gain practice for the ACT. 

PSAT

Students have the opportunity to take the PSAT in October to gain practice for the SAT and as a qualifying test for the National Merit Scholarship competition and for special recognition programs for African-American and Hispanic students. The PSAT includes three sections: verbal, mathematics, and writing.  

ACT

American College Test is a 3 hour, multiple-choice test with sections on English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science Reasoning. Can also be taken with an additional Writing Test. Scale is 0-36. The ACT can be used for admission to the University of Wisconsin System as well as for most other colleges.

SAT I

Reasoning Test - This 3 hour, mostly multiple-choice test with writing sample is designed to measure aptitude in verbal and mathematical areas.

SAT II

Subject Tests - A variety of subject areas are covered by one-hour tests. Best taken as you complete a subject, these tests are required for admission and/or placement by some highly selective colleges.
