Roosevelt Middle School of the Arts - Sixth Grade


Welcome to 6th grade at Roosevelt Middle School of the Arts!

 

Each 6th grade student will have a homebase teacher who will help them adjust to middle school. Students begin their day in homebase. The 6th grade homebases and lockers are on the first floor.

Sixth grade students all take these classes:

  • English
  • Math
  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • a semester of gym and a semester of dance
  • a semester of two of the following subjects: art, drama or computer.

 

Choir Band or Orchestra are available for students to take at RMSA. Auditions are held in the spring of their 5th grade year for advanced placement in band or orchestra.

 

Students who have taken the Roosevelt test in the spring of their 5th grade year may be programmed into an advanced math class.

 

Students who are reading at or above grade level as demonstrated on the Roosevelt test may take Spanish. Students who are reading below grade level will take a Reading class.
