Roosevelt is a school that has lots of things going on. To read about our school's achievements, please go to our School Successes page.
Our students come from all over the Milwaukee area. Many come specifically for the arts provided in our curriculum. All come because of our superb academic program.
Our staff understands the unique needs of the middle school child, work in teams on integrated curriculum and participate in the arts mission of the school.
Roosevelt is organized around a team or unit approach. That means that your child will have the teachers in their team
for the basic academic classess of Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. Teams
work together to prepare enriching curriculum reinforced in each other's classrooms.
In grades 6 & 7 the students can choose two of the following subjects for their arts rotation: Visual Art, Theatre Art, or Computer Arts. The 6th and 7th grade students will enjoy a semester in the two arts courses of their choosing. In grade 8 students choose two major art areas to have class in for the entire year. These areas include Band, Dance, Orchestra, Theatre Arts, Technology Arts, Visual Arts and Vocal Music.
In grades 6 students must take one semester of Dance as well as one semester of Gym. In grades 7 & 8 they may choose either Dance or Gym for their Physical Education requirement.
