Roosevelt Middle School of the Arts - Parents page

Welcome! Welcome!

You are invited to join an active and successful volunteer parent and teacher organization at Roosevelt Middle School of the Arts. You do not need to sign up or pay dues to become a member of the PTO. Every parent or guardian of a RMSA student is automatically a member.

We hold monthly meetings to plan activities and make decisions about fundraising and spending of the money. Ms. Roundtree, principal at RMSA, attends each meeting to update parents and answer any questions.

We have lots of fun! Being active in the PTO is a very rewarding experience. You get to meet new parents and you also send a message that school is important. Please do what you can to help continue a successful PTO by:

  • Attending regularly scheduled meetings
  • Volunteering your time
  • Completing and returning the volunteer forms.

What the Roosevelt PTO does

To give you a better understanding of what Roosevelt PTO does for the school, listed below are some of the various different activities that the PTO directly funds for the students:

  • Fall Book Fair - during Parent - Teacher Conferences
  • RIF - 3 distributions throughout the school year
  • Bus Driver Appreciation
  • Spring Fundraiser - Mr. Z’s
  • Spring Book Fair - during Parent - Teacher Conferences
  • T-shirt Sales
  • Honors Appreciation
  • Staff Appreciation Breakfast

How you can get involved in RMSA PTO Fundraisers

Fall Fundraiser

This was one of the biggest fundraisers of the year. This year we will be selling Gold C Books. There will also be some Entertainment Books for sale in the PTO office. We need chair people to organize and run this important fundraiser.

Book Fairs

These are held twice a year and last a whole week each time. Parent volunteers are needed during the day and during the evenings to help sell books.

Pick N Save Advantage Card

All parents, grandparents, in fact all friends and family members can support RMSA by adding number 676600 to their Pick N Save Advantage Card. Present your card every time you shop at Pick N Save to save money and help out RMSA.

Box Tops for Education

General Mills products offer money for each box top label collected. Just trim, bundle, fill out a form and mail them in once or twice a school year. This is an ongoing way to make money for Roosevelt.

RMSA PTO Activities

Bus Driver Appreciation

Once a year purchase and distribute small gifts for the bus drivers. This usually takes place in June.

Reading is Fundamental

Books are given to each student three times a year. Volunteers are needed during the day to assist at the school. Parents order books and help students make their choices.

Staff Appreciation

On Records Day, which is the last day of school when teachers are in the building without students, volunteers help set up a continental breakfast for the staff. The staff is presented with a gift from the PTO.

School Supply Store

This is still under development. Look for more information to follow.
