What is Teens Who Care?

Teens Who Care (TWC) is a middle school program for students who show promise in leadership and community involvement. The program is designed to provide students with experiences in leadership and service activities that will nurture their sense of efficacy and desire to serve. This program is focused specifically on early adolescents to help them deal with a series of developmental issues, including the need to "explore who they are and what they can become", "have many opportunities to achieve and have their competence recognized by others", "develop relationships with diverse adult role models", "participate meaningfully in their communities", "to test a developing morality and value structure in authentic situations". Additionally, it fosters their resiliency and helps create a culture for students to have a positive view of their potential.
