Our mission: Put our students and their education first.

Convenient Location:
Stuart is centrally located in the "red region" of Milwaukee Public Schools. Noyes Park is right across the street. It is a short walk to its nature center, playing fields, swimming pool and more!

State-of-the-Art Technology Resources:
Internet-ready computers are
available in each classroom. Our school network features
connections to many
educational programs.

Students also visit our school
computer lab once each week.

 

 

Camp Stuart :
Camp Stuart is our Before and After School Care program. Camp Stuart offers quality, affordable child care beginning at 7:00 AM and ending at 5:30 PM on school days.

Parent /Community/Staff Involvement is Key at Stuart:
Stuart parents, staff and community members oversee ongoing school improvement through groups like our School Council, Title I programs, PTO, Long Range Planning Committee, and School-to-Work Initiatives.

 

School-to-Work Connections:
Stuart's educational plan ties learning to the life skills children will need. We also work with area business partners on a variety of projects from tours to tutoring and mentoring.

 

Atmosphere:
Stuart has a pleasant learning environment that welcomes families... visit us and see!

Enrollment Information:
Stuart is an MPS neighborhood school in the "red region" of Milwaukee (see maps.) Families living in this region may choose Stuart School for their children.

MPS open enrollment period is in mid-February. Sign up in our school office. A lottery is held for open seats for the next school year.

Families new to MPS need:

1) a certified birth certificate

2) proof of residence

3) up to date immunization records.

Students who are not currently enrolled in MPS can sign up for open seats at Stuart at any time during the school year.

When school is not in session, you can sign up for Stuart at MPS Central Office at 5225 W. Vliet.

"Basic Facts" about Stuart:

  • What: The best education we can offer for every elementary school child!
  • For Whom: Stuart accepts children in grades K4 to 5. We offer exceptional education classes for children with Learning Disabilities and Emotional Disturbances from early childhood through 6th grade.
  • Where: Stuart is located one block south of Good Hope Road on North 86th Street in Milwaukee. (Click to link to map.)
  • When: Stuart has been educating Milwaukee children since 1967.
  • What else: Gilbert Stuart was an early American portrait painter who is most famous for the painting of George Washington that is used on the $1 bill. Stuart students chose the eagle as school mascot in 1995.
