Welcome

Welcome to Tippecanoe School for the Arts and Humanities! As principal of Tippecanoe, I take pride in our dedicated young learners and make it a goal to turn them into well-rounded students through the integration of arts and academics in the classroom. The safe learning environment at Tippecanoe allows our students to become comfortable with their surroundings that they may focus on their education.

At Tippecanoe, our students, staff, parents and community work together to build a solid foundation for successful learning. By partnering with community organizations, our students extend their knowledge of the arts and humanities to real-world concerns. Combined with the strong academic programs offered at Tippecanoe, this knowledge allows our students to further develop their minds and to reach their full potential both inside and outside the classroom. The lessons our students receive on music, art, literature, philosophy and language reinforce basic concepts, foster their creativity and encourage them to express themselves freely.

By teaching our students to approach life with a “humanitarian” attitude, we mold them into generous, compassionate young people. Collecting coats for other children, donating peanut butter and jelly to Second Harvest and decorating our “giving tree” during the holidays remind students to recognize the needs of others and to rise up to the challenge of building awareness for the issues of the greater community.

Tippecanoe students are made aware of the impact they have on the future and the opportunity they have to improve the community around them by using the resources and tools they gain through classroom instruction. By working hard and staying focused in school, our young learners become self-confident and motivated, determined to take on challenges that may face them in the real world. The development of communication, problem solving and critical thinking skills provides our students with the resources and tools they need to succeed in our modern world.
