“I have been teaching since 1992, shortly after I earned my bachelor’s degree in Education from Mount Mary College. In 2005, I obtained my master’s degree in Special Education from Cardinal Stritch University.
The best part of teaching is running into former students years later and hearing what they and their friends are up to. I once ran into a student and he told me he had some rough years, but kept thinking all my “preaching” and eventually, it convinced him to go to college and graduate. Students enjoy my classroom because everyone is treated with respect. Students are safe and respected in my classroom. I also appreciate humor and I like to have fun while we are learning. My students should know that when I teach them, my lessons don’t stop within my classroom walls. I infuse life lessons regarding character and obtaining and maintain employment on a daily basis. My job does not end when the bell rings. My favorite thing about WCLL is that I am at a new school! After 16 years of teaching middle school, I came to WCLL. The staff and students are very friendly and welcoming. The positive atmosphere is an enjoyable way to spend the school day. WCLL is a great place because of the family atmosphere. Seeing the tiny little children when I teach high school all day makes me smile. The students also have a respectful relationship with the adults. There is great camaraderie within the walls of our school.” |
