Expeditions
Our learning expeditions are long-term investigations made on a question or subject. Students may begin an individual or group project, conduct a field study or give a performance or presentation of work. Participate in interdisciplinary projects with real-world connections to develop yourself academically and personally and explore your social role in the community. Examples of learning expeditions include: Washington Park Biosphere Project — In this expedition, students observe a small section of earth around the Washington Lagoon. Wisconsin Whitetail Deer Project — Students study and observe the behavioral patterns of deer in Wisconsin. Film and Art Milwaukee Art Museum Project — In this project, students study art and film subjects and lead a tour of the Milwaukee Art Museum for the public. Television and News Station Visit — Students perform and record a newscast at a local television station. MPS Ropes Course — Students build teamwork and leadership skills in climbing MPS' own ropes course. All-School Skate — We reward students who demonstrate a desire to learn how to skate and attend a day of roller-skating. Film Reviews — Students study a subject area and then critique a movie premiere at a local theater.
