Wisconsin Avenue School
Our school enrollment is 400children in grades K4-5th. We are located two miles west of downtown Milwaukee at 27th & Wisconsin Ave. The student body and staff comprise a rich tapestry of ethnic cultures and languages. Our ESL( English as a Second Language)program serves many children.. This is designed to speed student transition to English , as quickly and efficiently as possible, while preserving their first language.

Mission Statement
The mission of Wisconsin Avenue School is to improve basic skills of all children as measured annually by MPS, state, and school-based accountability measures and assessments. Our school will nurture a school climate that is conductive to high academic achievement by encouraging quality interpersonal relationships, good attendance, high scholastic standards and an awareness and respect for multi-ethnic groups within our school and the community. Teachers will hold high expectations for all children and adapt their teaching strategies to guide children to achieve the MPS Grade level Learning Targets for all subject areas.  The learning needs of each unique child, and the goals and standards as prescribed in the daily instruction in our classrooms, and our two computer labs will prepare our students for middle school, high school, higher education or employment after graduation. It is also the mission of our school to encourage active parent involvement and empowerment in all aspects of our school program.
