Milwaukee Public Schools has purchased subscriptions to several online resources with funding from the State of Wisconsin. The license agreements permit password-free access to these resources by Milwaukee Public Schools staff and students, when connected to the Internet via computers on the MPS wide area network or computers that have dialed in through the MPS modems. If you have connected to the Internet via a non-MPS service - such as ExecPC, CompuServe or AOL - you will not be able to access these services even though you hold a valid MPS Internet account. Most of these services are best viewed with Version 3 or newer browsers.

Discovery Channel's online site offers many items that are useful in teaching various subjects.

Discovery Channel's school site has video clips appropriate for lessons in science, social studies, and the humanities. You will also find lesson plans, a TV calendar, bulletin board discussions, keypal projects with a list of schools that have participated, technical help, an online store, spotlight schools on the web, and more. 
Education Place
Houghton Mifflin's Eduplace has a variety of educational activities. A search tool allows searching by subject and grade level. 
Global School House  Global School House links students and teachers around the world in projects designed by educators. 
Scholastic Network  The Scholastic Network has a variety of activities and projects for students from elementary through middle school age.

Space Blast  A very good list of links to sites about space. This site says, "Make a scale model of the Solar 
Walk the Solar System  System and learn the REAL definition of "space." Calculations are automatically done for you. This would be a great science project.
