Parent Involvement
Parent involvement is a very important
component of our effort to provide the best possible education for all of our children. We recognize and respect the fact that parent will always be the first and most important teachers of their children. Our staff is enthusiastic in its desire to share with parents in planning and implementing challenging, interesting and rewarding learning experiences for our students. P.T.O. Our PTO meets monthly. Meeting dates may be found in the calendar section of our website.

PTO OFFICERS:
Patricia Powell- President, Suset Colon-Vice President, Dorothy Johnson- Secretary. By school board policy, our School Governance Council must be meaningfully involved in the formulation of our school's annual Education Plan and School Budgets that include: school board, SAGE and Title 1 budgets. Each council member confirms their involvement by their signature, which becomes the last page of the annual educational plan. See our plan in this web site. Feel free to download our educational plan.

School Governance Council
This committee meets monthly. See meeting dates in our website school calendar.

Entertainment included songs, skits and a spectacular performance by our school dance team, led by Mrs. Dorothy Johnson. Many door prizes were awarded, including complete turkey and ham dinner meal, boom box and the grand prize a color TV set.

Parent-Teacher Conferences:
We always conduct 600+evening conferences in October and March (see calendar).
Many other conferences are conducted throughout the school year.

Special Events:
Such as school assembly programs are centered on holidays and classroom projects ( Science fairs, plays, dances, etc.) Parent are  always welcomed and appreciated in these programs.

Parent Volunteers:
Many parents help teachers in many tasks such as home work support, on field trips, making costumes, tutoring and other unique assistance. Many past parent volunteers were eventually hired to join our staff as educational assistants.
